Rioja is a traditional Spanish wine made from 100% Tempranillo harvested from hillside vineyards near the Rio (river) Oja. Vineyards are perched high in the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria providing cool relief form the warm summer sunshine. The result is full-bodied wines with lots of fresh red berry flavors. Crianza signifies a wine that matures for a minimum of 12 months in barrel traditionally made from American oak.
